DISTANCE
The Stravitz Law Firm, PC provides local counsel services throughout the District of Columbia and most of Maryland (Montgomery, Prince George’s, Anne Arundel, Carroll, Howard, Frederick, Baltimore, Harford, Cecil, Charles, Calvert, Queen Anne’s and St. Mary’s Counties, and Baltimore City).
As an experienced trial lawyer himself, Eric understands that lead counsel are often overworked and stressed out. For this reason, as local counsel, one of his goals is to make the life of lead counsel easier and less stressful. He will often make suggestions, many of which are implemented, that go beyond simply complying with local practices and procedures.
Eric Stravitz brings years of experience to bear for your clients, to help you achieve the results you seek in any of the many courts in which he practices.
Eric is AV rated, and 10 AVVO rated, and has considerable experience serving as local counsel in both simple and complex matters.
Eric handles local counsel cases in Maryland Circuit Courts and Maryland’s Federal District Court sitting in both Baltimore and Greenbelt, as well as cases in the District of Columbia’s Superior Court and its Federal District Court.
Eric is able to provide a wide range of services as local counsel, up to and including serving as lead counsel in certain cases. He regularly:
Arnold Weiner, Esq., widely recognized as one of Maryland’s premier business litigation attorneys, had this to say about Eric Stravitz after using him as local counsel in a Superior Court case:
“Mr. Stravitz is the perfect local counsel. He has an intimate knowledge of local practices and procedures, is bright and resourceful, and makes himself available whenever needed.”
Over twenty lawyers at a large international law firm based in Philadelphia have used Eric as local counsel in a multitude of cases for more than 15 years. For example, in July 2017, while serving as local counsel, Eric was part of a trial team that after a 4-day jury trial got a seven-figure verdict in the the Prince George’s County Circuit Court on a case that was vigorously contested. At that trial, Eric gave an opening statement, cross-examined a key defense witness, “played” a defense witness (reading while on the witness stand from the deposition transcript of an unavailable defense witness), and gave a closing/rebuttal argument. Eric also attended nightly dinners after each trial day at which trial strategy was formulated.
In addition to his personal injury practice, Eric has also handled, as lead counsel, insurance coverage disputes, breach of contract, defamation, and subrogation cases.
Lastly, Eric maintains a network of superb lawyers who handle cases in areas in which he does not practice.
If you seek local counsel for a civil litigation matter, Eric would like to hear from you. Please contact him online or at 240-467-5741.
